Stewardship Programmes
Pesticide stewardship
Pesticides are not universally appreciated! They are frequently associated with harmful residues in food, with hazardous spray drift and are commonly regarded as environmental pollutants. Furthermore, working with the multiplicity of pesticide regulations against a background of public and political mistrust within the community is a daunting task.
Planning a stewardship program
During this stage the focus will be on defining aims in terms of addressing key issues, defining the program scope; and also in terms of realising value.
Running a stewardship program
Putting ideas into practice requires good planning, energy, commitment and good communication. Co-operation between interested parties is key to good stewardship.
Realising value from product stewardship
Investment in stewardship helps a business demonstrate respect for its customers and the wider community and helps generate respect for the business’s values. As such, investments in this area reinforce commitments to corporate social responsibility.
